Considering very active lifestyle of boys, the interior is also designed in a very lively, dynamic way. The toddler room appeared to be the lightest and brightest space in the house. Translucent tinted glass wall of the closet ensures an easy view of clothes on the one hand and erases boundaries between the rooms on the other. The master bedroom has an exit to a full-fledged walk-in closet designed by Rimadesio. And it’s not a coincidence: with the help of contrasting dark and light elements the designers added the sense of depth to the interior and emphasized the geometry of the space. The master bedroom, just like the kitchen and lounge zones, features much black color. And the so-called concealed light – LED lamps by Delta Light (Belgium) – coupled with a comfy Italian sofa by Busnelli make the living room even cozier. In the lounge area Scandinavian asceticism is brightened up with yellow splashes in home textile, items of décor and furniture upholstery. The dark naturalistic kitchen set is also Italian – made by Poliform, Phoenix collection. Hence, the rooms were separated with big sliding glass doors by Rimadesio, Italy. It was determined to make the kitchen open to the lounge, but with an option of isolation. This accounts for natural materials, naturalistic colors and the sense of airiness and spaciousness felt in this house. The designers defined the general style concept of the interior as “eco-minimalism with Scandinavian-style motifs”. The original layout remained practically unchanged: the only first floor included three bedrooms (master, toddler and guest one), two spacious bathrooms, a lounge open to a kitchen with a terrace, a walk-in closet, a laundry room, an entry space with a corridor and a garage. And they managed to penetrate the house with Scandinavian spirit, but without customary asceticism typical of this style. With such a wish they turned to professional interior designers. Traveling in Finland, the hosts of this cottage got so excited about local interiors, that this drove them to replicate that atmosphere in their country home. Interior design inspired by beloved Finland, natural materials and a picturesque view opening from huge panoramic windows: this project’s designers created a very stylish country home for a young family couple with two boy kids.
